On April 27th, CMS published a final rule confirming that physician enrollment in PECOS is soon to become a condition of payment.  Home Health Agencies may see claims edits introduced soon that would deny claims if PECOS enrollment is not confirmed.  Although the interim rule dealing with PECOS was made effective on July 1, 2010, CMS decided to delay enforcement of these edits due to issues with the PECOS systems.
