myCares.NET™ is a web-based solution that
Sansio created as part of the CARES (Cardiac Arrest Registry to
Enhance Survival) project. Sansio joined forces with Emory
University, the American Heart Association (AHA) and the Centers
for Disease Control (CDC) to provide a Software as a Service
(SaaS) solution for the collection of CARES data. Sansio
provides the engine behind CARES, providing the healthcare
information technology expertise, including point-of-service
field data capture, centralized data management, collection of
hospital outcome data and healthcare data analysis for the CARES
project.
CARES was initiated in October 2004 with
the intent to develop a prototype national registry to help
local EMS administrators and medical directors identify when and
where cardiac arrest occurs, which elements of their EMS system
are functioning properly in dealing with these cases, and what
changes can be made to improve outcomes. CARES is designed to
enable cities across the country to collect similar data quickly
and easily, and use this information to improve cardiac arrest
treatment and outcomes.

across the country.
CARES
consolidates all essential data elements of a cardiac arrest
event including pre-hospital and hospital outcome data in an
efficient manner. With this standardized collection system,
participants can track ongoing system performance in several,
tailored reports.
