ScanHealth’s HealthEMS^® Solution Certified NEMSIS Gold Compliant

Duluth, MN - July 14, 2006 Sansio announces notification by the NEMSIS Technical Assistance Center that its HealthEMS^® solution was certified compliant at the “Gold” level with the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) Version 2.2.1 Dataset.  Sansio was one of first three vendors in the nation to achieve this status. 

The industry-leading HealthEMS^® ePCR (electronic Pre-hospital Care Report) is the key element in supporting increased compliance with NEMSIS and the 400 data fields specific to the NHTSA 2.2.1 dataset. Combined with import and export functionality, the HealthEMS^® ePCR supported Sansio being one of three vendors selected nationally to achieve “Gold” status with NEMSIS transmissions.

According to Hakamaki, HealthEMS^® not only has the ability to export the NEMSIS data, but also has the ability to import the NEMSIS data for State repository purposes.  “In fact, HealthEMS^® is now offering FREE data collection / repository services for State organizations so they can focus on the importance of getting all their providers collecting this important data, and not focusing on how they are going to pay for it.  We have been following the NEMSIS project for many years and are excited to see it take off.”  

The NEMSIS Project is an effort to create a national EMS database. The database will contain data from local and state agencies from across the nation. This effort will define EMS and pre-hospital care in a way never before imagined, improving patient care and EMS curriculum and defining a standard on which to measure care. Agencies across the nation will be able to share the key elements of their data nationally.
