myCares.NET is a web-based solution that Sansio created as part of the CARES (Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival) project; partners include Emory University, the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and the American Heart Association (AHA).
Sansio is the IT partner of the CARES network, providing the healthcare information services expertise, including field data capture, centralized data management, collection of hospital outcome data, and healthcare data analysis for the CARES project.
CARES was initiated in October 2004 with the intent to develop a prototype national registry to help local EMS administrators and medical directors identify when and where cardiac arrest occurs, which elements of their EMS system are functioning properly in dealing with these cases, and what changes can be made to improve outcomes.
CARES consolidates all essential data elements of a cardiac arrest event including pre-hospital and hospital outcome data in an efficient manner. CARES is designed to enable cities across the country to collect similar data quickly and easily, and use this information to improve cardiac arrest treatment and outcomes. With this standardized collection system, participants can track ongoing system performance in several, tailored reports.
