• Tim Hakamaki

    President, Fire/EMS

Tim became Sansio’s first direct marketing hire when he came on board as a Home Care Advisor in November 1997. Commencing in late 1999, Tim started spending part of his time determining how to apply Sansio’s home care decision support solution to the emergency medical services (EMS) industry. In January 2000, he began working full-time on the HealthEMS Fire / EMS product and was promoted to Vice President of EMS in March of 2000. Tim is responsible for the overall management of EMS product development, marketing, training, implementation and support.

Tim graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Nursing from the College of St. Scholastica. While working as an intensive care registered nurse at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth in 1996, Tim started working part-time as a visit nurse at Nurses That Care, a home care agency formerly owned by Sansio. Tim’s experience also includes serving as a first responder for the Cromwell Fire and Ambulance Department from 1990 to 1993 and since 1993 has volunteered as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

Tim possesses outstanding leadership abilities and has earned a well-deserved reputation for developing innovative, technologically-advanced software for today’s Fire / EMS environment. He has demonstrated ability to create, lead and mentor a high-performance Fire / EMS group comprised of diverse and highly technical individuals, giving him a solid background for developing, expanding and enhancing Sansio’s Fire / EMS solutions. Tim has led the evolution of HealthEMS to become the most widely used pre-hospital care reporting solution in the nation.

Tim lives with his wife, son and two daughters and enjoys hunting between the hours of 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM, when he is not working. He raises horses, restores cars, cuts hay, and loves to play and watch basketball.
